June July August September October
October 12, 2002 Jay pulled into Kankakee tonight for the $2k-to-win special with a new motor and hopes of bringing home the big cash. Things started great as Jay turned a 17.486 in time trials to set fast time. Jay's time put him on the pole for the first heat. Jay jumps out to the lead right away and never looks back as he's able to hang on for the win. For the feature, the track inverted the heat race winners, so Jay lined up on the inside of row three. Jay moves into 7th place before passing Andy Bishop for sixth. His next target is Shannon Shutter for fifth and he makes the pass before setting his sights on Kevin Lenzen. Jay tries to make a move on Lenzen and it ends up costing him a spot and he drops back to sixth. After Damon Miller spins out, Jay finds himself back in fifth place. He would stay there until lap 24 when he was forced to pull out with transmission problems. The team will be working all week to get the problem fixed for next week's $1000-to-win Bomber Special at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL |
October 8, 2002 It's time for the big one at Kankakee Motor Speedway. This weekend is the first ever $2000-to-win Street Stock Special and Jay and crew have been putting in extra hours preparing for this event. Hope to see you at the race!! |
